China to blacklist dishonest cotton companiesBy ()
Updated: 2007-06-28 11:20 The China Cotton Association is drawing up a blacklist of dishonest companies and calling on its members to stop trading with the listed firms. The association published regulation on Wednesday that would enable it to start a credit rating system for the Chinese cotton industry, said Yang Zhaoliang, deputy secretary general of China Cotton Association. The regulation, effective from July 1, applies to all association members and all companies, from home and abroad, that do business with members. Members can file a complaint with the association when they encounter deception or dishonest. The names of the offenders would be put on the blacklist if the allegations were confirmed by the association. The China Cotton Association became a member of the Committee for International Cooperation Between Associations in February, and will share the blacklist with all the members of the international body.
