Singapore-listed China Fishery Group Ltd said an indirect wholly-owned unit has acquired five licensed purse seine fishing vessels in Peru from two independent third party sellers for 19.5 million US dollars.

"In the year to date we have enlarged our Peruvian purse seine fishing fleet by an additional 16 vessels," group managing director Ng Joo Siang said.

With this acquisition, China Fishery said it now has 34 vessels in Peru with fish hold capacity of 9,395 cubic metres.
