China's State Nuclear Power Technology Co. (SNPTC), officially inaugurated Tuesday, is set to introduce third-generation nuclear power technologies from the Westinghouse Electric Co.

The talks with Westinghouse are about to be concluded and an agreement is expected to be signed next month, said Wang Binghua, the Chinese company's president.

The two companies signed a framework contract on March 1, which says Westinghouse will provide four third-generation pressurized water reactors.

The SNPTC, co-funded by the State Council and four large state-owned enterprises including China National Nuclear Corporation, is in charge of developing China's third-generation nuclear power technologies.
