Air China generated US$413m in profit

Air China generated 3.191 billion yuan (US$413 million) in net profit in 2006, up 86.71 percent year-on-year, the carrier disclosed yesterday.

The company said its main operating revenue climbed 17.28 percent on-year to 47 billion yuan. Air China operated 285 air routes at the end of 2006 including 196 domestic routes, 81 international routes and eight regional routes.

It took delivery of 31 airplanes in 2006, bringing its total number to 207 at the end of 2006.
