Macao's exports, imports soar in first 10 months

Macao's exports and imports saw year-on-year rise of 12.4 percent and 17.9 percent respectively in the first 10 months, according to official statistics issued on Friday.

The figures released by the government-run Statistics and Census Services (SCS) showed that textile and garment exports, which accounted for 73.0 percent of Macao's total export value in the period, witnessed a year-on-year rise of 6.4 percent.

The United States and the European Union remained as Macao's major export markets in the period, jointly making up 64.8 percent of the total export value, the figures showed.

Meanwhile, the region's major suppliers of imported goods remained mainly in Asia, the statistics displayed.
