Tieup sought between insurers and medical services

No insurers have submitted applications to the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) for investment in medical institutions, CIRC personal insurance supervision department vice director Fang Li said at the second International Health Management and Health Insurance Forum held from November 4 to 5.

"According to some opinions of the State Council on the reform and development of the insurance industry, China advocated insurance institutions to invest in medical institutions, but as China's medical reforms are still happening some uncertainties will appear during the transformation of the system," Fang said at the forum.

"As China's insurance watchdog, CIRC will consider the needs in every respect and establish more detailed enforcement regulations on insurer investment in medical institutions on the basis of researching international experience," Fang added.
