BEIJING - Any move by the United States to take China to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) over intellectual property violations would have an "extremely negative" impact on trade relations, Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai said on Tuesday.

"We think it's senseless. It won't help solve any problems," he told reporters. "If action is taken at the WTO it will have an extremely negative impact on the two countries' economic and trade relations."
