Book on fashion industry published

China CITIC Press has published "Chinese Beauties," a 213-page book about Chinese fashion and the beauty industry. The book was compiled by Zhang Xiaomei, editor-in-chief of "China Beauty and Fashion News," a weekly fashion journal.

Consisting of six parts, the book explores 10 Chinese entertainment stars, 10 stylists, 10 hairdressers and 10 fashion designers. Each of these celebrities offers tips on how readers can look their best.

The last part features a different point of view about beauty from the standpoint of novelists Hai Yan, Yu Hua and Su Tong, film director Yang Yazhou, actresses Zhou Xun, Fan Bingbing and Mei Ting, super model Jiang Peilin, and others.

In addition to finishing the book, Zhang produced a one-hour programme on Sichuan Television. Entitled "Chinese Beauty," the daily broadcast news programme features documentaries about the world's fashion and beauty industry.
