Lhasa Economic & Technological Development Zone (LETDZ) was
approved to be a State-level development zone in September, 2001. The planned
area for the zone is 5.46 square kilometers.
Geographical Location The LETDZ is situated in the
Duilong Deqin County, about 10 kilometers to the west of downtown Lhasa, capital
of Tibetan Autonomous Region.
Climate Lhasa is in the temperate semi-dry climate zone
of the Tibetan Plateau with abundant sunshine.
Communication and Transportation The zone is about 50
kilometers away from Gongga Airport, and 2 kilometers from the Lhasa Railway
Station which is under construction. And National Highway 318 passes through the
zone.
Investment Priorities LETDZ encourages overseas
investments on high-tech industrial projects oriented at export. Sectors and
projects shall concentrate on the development and processing of agricultural
produce and other local materials and minerals. Big or small, investors are
welcome so far as their proposals are of high-tech and their products are of
strong market competitiveness.
