Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone

Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved as state-level deveopment zone in February 2000. The zone has a developed area of 4.9 square kilometers. 
 
Geographical Location
Xi'an Economic & Technological Development Zone (XETDZ) spans both sides of Weiyang Road --- the city's axis outside the North Gate of Xi'an.

Xi'an is an ancient cultural city with a history of more than 3,000 years. It is well-known together with other three famous cities in the world, namely Athens, Rome and Cairo as ancient capitals. The terra-cotta warriors and horses of Shihuang of the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), known as the eighth wonder of the world, are on display here.

Communication and Transportation
Lying between North Ring Road 2 and the Round-the-City Expressway, it is 5.5 kilometers from downtown Xi'an, 5 kilometers from both Xi'an Passenger Railway Station and Freight Station, and a 25-minute ride from Xi'an International Airport. It is the only gateway from downtown Xi'an to the airport.

Industrial Structure
An industrial structure with such pillar industries as mechanical electronics, light industry and foods, bio-pharmaceuticals and new materials and driven by new and high-tech products has come into shape in the zone.
