The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG)
and the dairy producer Yili Group signed a sponsorship agreement in Huhhot
today, officially making the group the dairy products sponsor for the 2008
Games.
Present at the signing ceremony were Chen Guanglin, Vice-Secretary of the
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Committee of the Communist Party of China, and
Wang Wei, BOCOG Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General.
Wang Wei extended thanks to the Yili Group for its support for the 2008
Olympic Games, saying that the participation of enterprises is an important
guarantee to ensure the success of the Olympiad. During the preparations for the
Games, BOCOG has received support from enterprises all over the country.
The sponsorship from Yili for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will not only
further consolidate the financial foundation for a successful Beijing Olympic
Games but also create larger room for Yili to develop into an international
brand, Wang remarked.
According to the agreement, Yili will provide funds and dairy products to the
2008 Olympiad and Paralympics, BOCOG, the Chinese Olympic Committee and the
Chinese sport delegations to the 2006 Olympic winter Games and the 2008 Olympic
summer Games.
On behalf of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Government, Chen Guanglin
rated the sponsorship an enormous honor for Yili and believed that Yili will
make all efforts to provide the best services for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The Beijing 2008 Sponsor Program consists of three tiers: partners, sponsors
and supplies. Up till now, 10 partners have been designated, including Bank of
China, China Netcom, SINOPAC, CNPC, China Mobile, Wolkswagen Group, adidas,
Johnson & Johnson, Air China and PICC P&C. Six enterprises have been
selected as the Beijing 2008 Sponsors, namely UPS, Haier Group, SOHU, Yili
Group, Tsingtao Beer and Yanjing Beer.
