A Beijing man was detained for eight days after harassing a TV hostess for three years and making death threats against her, Beijing Times reported on Thursday.
The 21-year-old man, surnamed Li, considered himself a fan of Liu Hongyue and often waited for her outside the station. On May 22, Li sent two cellphone messages to Liu saying she would die that night. Liu reported the messages to police, who detained Li on Tuesday.
