2 killed, 6 injured in shooting in US Salt Lake City
LOS ANGELES -- Two people are dead, and six others were wounded after a shooting outside a church on Wednesday evening in Salt Lake City, capital of the US state of Utah, said local media.
"The situation still is very fluid," local KSL News quoted Salt Lake City Police Department public information officer Glen Mills as saying. "At this point, we know that there are at least eight victims. I can confirm that two of them have died, three of them are in critical condition, and three others in unknown condition."
The shooting was reported at about 7:36 pm local time (0236 GMT on Thursday) after a fight broke out in the parking lot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A funeral was underway inside the church, according to reports.
Mills confirmed that there is an active manhunt, and officials are unsure if there was more than one shooter.
