China's Defense Ministry debuts on X, attracting thousands of followers instantly

China's Ministry of National Defense has attracted more than 300,000 followers on the social media platform X within five days of launching its official account (handle: @MND_China).

According to the account's profile, its follower count had reached 304,100 as of Friday afternoon. The account has so far posted six original updates, with the most-viewed post — on a China-Russia joint strategic air patrol — drawing about 4.8 million views.

Meanwhile, several imitation accounts have been spotted, with profiles that closely resemble the ministry's official account.
