China's Foreign Ministry, along with Chinese embassies and consulates in Japan, on Friday advised Chinese citizens to avoid traveling to Japan in the near future, citing a deteriorating security environment and a rise in cases targeting Chinese nationals.

According to the advisory, Japan has seen a notable decline in public safety this year, with frequent incidents involving Chinese citizens. Several Chinese nationals have been attacked, and some cases remain unsolved. The overall security situation for Chinese citizens in Japan has continued to worsen, it said.

The notice also said that recent blatantly provocative remarks on Taiwan made by the Japanese leader have further damaged the atmosphere for people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, creating additional risks to the safety and security of Chinese citizens in Japan.

The Foreign Ministry and Chinese missions in Japan reminded Chinese citizens to refrain from visiting Japan for the time being. Those already in the country were urged to closely monitor local security developments, enhance their safety awareness, and take necessary precautions.

In case of emergencies, Chinese citizens are advised to contact local police and seek assistance from the Chinese embassy or nearest consulate in Japan.
