Ample room for China-Malta exchange in conservation

The third Liangzhu Forum was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Saturday and Sunday, under the theme of "Revitalization of Civilization: Cultural Heritage and Human Culture Diversity".
Mario Cutajar, chairman of Heritage Malta and keynote speaker of the main forum, said he was pleasantly pleased to witness the huge transformation of China since his first visit to the country in 2007, when he was in charge of returning a group of terracotta warriors to Xi'an, Shaanxi province.
"It seems that we have different schools of thought as regards heritage conservation. An exchange like the Liangzhu Forum would help us understand each other, barter techniques, and share experiences," Cutajar said.
He emphasized that there is much room for exchange between China and Malta in the area of conservation since both countries boast more than 5,000 years of history and diverse cultural heritage sites.
