The World Conference on China Studies opened in Shanghai on Tuesday, with the theme of "Historical and Contemporary China: A Global Perspective".

Tiziana Lippiello, rector of Ca' Foscari University of Venice, spoke highly of the Chinese young generation for their diligence and commitment, while stressing the need to balance hard work with time for oneself.
