1st Xinjiang International Photography Contest invites entries
The first Xinjiang International Photography Contest was launched online on September 28 and now invites entries from photographers at home and abroad.
Entries can be either documentary or landscape photographs taken in Xinjiang after January 1, 2024, and should be submitted before December 1, 2025, according to the organizers of the contest.
No AI-generated photos should be submitted, said the organizers, noting that creative photos using third-party materials should be clearly indicated.
A total of 150 photos and photo series will be shortlisted for awards, of which 80 will be documentary photographs and the rest 70 be landscape ones. The best five photos, three documentary ones and two landscape ones, will each win their authors a prize of 50,000 yuan ($7,009).
Jury of the contest will be made by internationally renowned photographers, said the organizers. An award ceremony will be held and shortlisted photos will be displayed in the Xinjiang Grand Theater in Changji Hui autonomous prefecture.
Participants can submit their works at the special section of the First Xinjiang International Photography Contest available in Chinese, English and Russian on Tianshannet (https://xf.ts.cn/photo/). Each participant can upload no more than 10 entries.
Sponsored by Future Motors, the contest is organized by Xinjiang Today Media Hub, Xinjiang Photographers Association and Xinjiang Pictorial under the auspices of Xinjiang Daily (Group), Xinjiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Xinjiang Culture and Tourism Investment Group Co, Ltd.
