The timing of the festival coincides with the peak season for enjoying fu yang, or summer mutton, considered a seasonal delicacy. From the onset of the hottest days to the arrival of autumn, this period is known as the golden time for savoring mutton.

The township has earned the prestigious designation of a national-level agricultural powerhouse, with its goat industry reaching a total industrial value of 280 million yuan ($39.16 million) last year.
