1 dead as landslides destroy villages in Yunnan

One person is confirmed dead and others reported missing as of Aug 14, after continuous heavy rainfall triggered landslides and mudslides in villages in Lushui, Yunnan province, according to CCTV news.
Local authorities, including border police and firefighting departments, have evacuated 23 residents from 10 severely affected households as of 10 am on Aug 14 following the destruction of multiple houses in the mountainous villages. Rescue operations are ongoing, with three heavy excavators clearing debris at the disaster site.
