Players compete in a qiangshu game during the 11th Traditional Games of Ethnic Groups of Inner Mongolia autonomous region on July 27, 2025. The Ewenki ethnic people have preserved  qiangshu (literally "linchpin snatching"), a team sport revolving around a wooden linchpin ( shu) that traditionally secured cartwheels. The rules and gameplay of this ancient game resemble the modern rugby. Players wrestle, sprint and pass to ultimately hammer the linchpin against a target wheel. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
