Today marks the Corban Festival, also known as Eid al-Adha or the Sacrifice Festival. It is celebrated by many of Xinjiang's ethnic groups, including the Uygur, Kazak, Uzbek, Tajik and Hui.

The celebration features a grand feast filled with delicious food and snacks. The slaughtering of sheep as a sacrifice is also an important part of the celebration.
