China's railway system saw record-breaking passenger volume and steady cargo growth during the just concluded May Day holiday travel rush, reflecting a robust recovery in both domestic mobility and logistics demand, according to the national railway operator China State Railway Group on Wednesday.
From April 29 to May 6, a total of 151 million passenger trips were made on the national railway network, marking a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent. May 1 alone witnessed 23.12 million passenger trips, setting a new single-day record for passenger volume.
