Pakistan conducts successful training launch of short-range ballistic missile

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan on Saturday conducted a successful training launch of its surface-to-surface "Abdali Weapon System," the military said in a statement.
The launch, held as part of the ongoing military exercise "Ex INDUS," aimed to ensure the operational readiness of Pakistan's strategic forces and validate key technical parameters, including the missile's advanced navigation system and enhanced maneuverability, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military's media wing, said in the statement.
The Abdali missile, with a range of 450 km, is a short-range ballistic missile designed for precision strikes and contributes to Pakistan's deterrence capability, the ISPR said.
Following the successful test, the president and prime minister of Pakistan, along with senior officers of the armed forces, extended their congratulations to the participating personnel, the statement added.
They expressed full confidence in the capabilities of Pakistan's strategic forces and reiterated the country's commitment to maintain credible minimum deterrence for national defense.
