China mobilized its armed forces to carry out patrols in the territorial waters, airspace of Huangyan Island and surrounding areas on Thursday.

The China Coast Guard said its ships conducted law enforcement patrols in the waters and surrounding areas of Huangyan Island, reaffirming China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights. Since the beginning of February, the Coast Guard has consistently strengthened patrols in the region, implementing regular air-sea patrols and control measures.

On the same day, the Southern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army organized its naval and air forces to conduct combat-readiness patrols in the waters, airspace, and surrounding areas of Huangyan Island, according to a news release from the command.

Throughout February, the command has continued to intensify patrols in the region, reinforcing its control over the airspace and waters to resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and security, as well as to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea.
