The Aerospace Center Hospital inaugurated a sleep medicine center on Monday to address rising demands from patients grappling with sleep disorders.

The hospital, located in Beijing's Haidian district, said that the center will gather nearly 40 specialists from the fields of neurology, traditional Chinese medicine, respiratory and critical care medicine, geriatrics and more to deliver scientific, personalized and precise diagnosis and treatment plans.

Expanding availability of outpatient services for mental and sleep disorders nationwide is one of the 10 objectives outlined by the National Health Commission for this year.

The commission said that by the end of November 2025, each city-level region across China should have at least one hospital that can provide outpatient services for mental and sleep disorders.

The commission also calls for enhancing training for psychiatrists and ensuring appropriate staffing levels at psychological and sleep clinics.

China General Technology Group, a State-owned conglomerate spanning areas of machinery manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, construction and more, said that it aims to set up 50 mental health clinics and 50 sleep medicine clinics this year within its subsidiary hospitals.
