Crash leaves five dead, one critically injured in Bazhong

Five people were killed and one severely injured in a traffic accident Wednesday morning in Enyang district of Bazhong in Sichuan province, local police said.
The accident occurred at around 11:40 am. A heavy-duty dump truck belonging to Dazhou Tianyou Logistics, driven by a 33-year-old man surnamed Jiang, collided with vehicles waiting for the traffic light, according to a statement released by the Enyang branch of the Bazhong public security bureau.
According to the statement, four people died at the accident site, and one died during the rescue process. Twelve vehicles were damaged.
Rescue efforts are underway, and the police are investigating the case.
