Spokeswoman offers condolences after deadly fire in Taiwan

A Chinese mainland spokeswoman extended condolences on Friday following a tragic fire in Taiwan that claimed nine lives.
Local media reported that the fire broke out on Thursday in an unfinished warehouse in Taichung, a city in central Taiwan. In addition to the nine fatalities, seven people were injured in the blaze.
Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, conveyed condolences to the compatriots who lost their lives and offered sympathy to the families of the victims and the injured.
