Symposium explores enhancing computing power innovation, cooperation globally
The 2024 International Symposium on Computility Technology Standards and Applications, which looked at jointly exploring computing power innovation and practice globally, concluded in Shanghai on Nov 19.
Themed as "Enhancing International Computility Cooperation to Inspire Intelligence" , the event attracted participants of government departments, international organizations, scientific research institutions and enterprises from countries including the US, Malaysia, Singapore, Uzbekistan, Germany, the UK, Japan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, according to its host China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
Qu Huafeng, an official with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said to explore the opportunities of the digital era requires wider scope and higher level of cooperation.
"The computing industry should enhance the sector's development level in aspects of laying solid foundation for digital development, sharing innovative technology experience, building a computing industry ecology, and seeking mutual trust and mutually beneficial development," said Qu.
While introducing the city's achievement in computing power, Rong Zhiqin, deputy director of the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Informatization, said Shanghai has always adhered to technology innovation, remained committed to opening-up, insisted on collaboration and communications, and was devoted to the creation of city level scenarios for artificial intelligence and unmanned driving application, so as to provide a grand stage for computing industry's development.
With a focus on computing power related infrastructure, ecology and networks innovative development, the event tried to actively build an inclusive, open and shared platform for exchanges and cooperation for all parties involved in computing power.
