Global researchers share TCM progress at Beijing forum

The 2024 International Acupuncture and Moxibustion Academic Forum sponsored by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine was held Nov 8-9 in Beijing.

At the opening ceremony, Liu Cunzhi, the director of Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Massage College of BUCM, and She Yanfen, vice-president of Hebei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, signed a cooperation agreement on joint base construction. Meanwhile, the alumni association of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Massage College of BUCM was also launched.

At the symposium, researchers from the United States, Australia, South Korea, Japan and China shared progress in frontier acupuncture and moxibustion research topics, such as "Neural Mechanisms Underlying the Electroacupuncture Effect on Hypertension", "Implementing Acupuncture in the Emergency Department in an Australian Public Hospital", "Scalp Acupuncture vs Brain Stimulation: Exploring Differences and Similarities", "Medical-Engineering Integration: Utilizing Nanomaterials to Power Acupuncture Innovation and Explore Its Mechanisms", and "Neuroimaging Study of Acupuncture to Improve Cognitive Function in Patients with Subjective Cognitive Decline".

More than 150 experts and scholars from the US, France, the Philippines, Nepal, Ecuador, Kazakhstan and other countries participated in the forum.
