China will continue to open its market while seeking cooperation with US enterprises against intensified uncertainties following Donald Trump's election as US president, said Zhou Mi, senior researcher at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce.

While US politicians stress the competition with China, US companies and state-level governments are eager to cooperate with Chinese enterprises. "We should try to improve (cooperation)," Zhou said in an interview with China Perspective.

"China has sent a very firm and very clear signal that we want to open our market, no matter who is going to ruin the rules, or who is going to close the door," Zhou said.
