A group of young performers from the Soong Ching Ling Peace Angel Art Troupe captivated the audience with their renditions of Chinese opera at a Mid-Autumn Festival opera event on Tuesday.

It featured famous excerpts, including The Battle of Dingjunshan and Mu Guiying Takes the Command from Peking Opera, alongside the Kunqu Opera classic, The Peony Pavilion.

In addition, the talented performers also presented plays depicting heroic tales of the Red Army during the revolutionary years. As a result of their performance, the youngsters deepened their understanding of revolutionary history.

The event aimed to help the younger generation remember history, foster lofty ambitions, cultivate patriotism and celebrate the upcoming 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
