Multiple short-range ballistic missiles fired
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea fired a salvo of short-range ballistic missiles early on Wednesday, the Republic of Korea and Japan said, Pyongyang's second such weapons test in a week. The missiles lifted off from Kaechon at about 6:50 am on Wednesday, in a northeast direction and flew about 400 kilometers, ROK's Joint Chiefs of Staff said, without specifying how many were fired and where they landed. About 30 minutes after its first missile notice, Japan's coast guard said the DPRK fired another ballistic missile. Pyongyang fired several short-range ballistic missiles last Thursday, the first such launch in more than two months, which it later described as a test of a new 600-millimeter multiple-launch rocket system.
