Three killed, fourteen injured in furnace splash tragedy
Three people were killed, and fourteen were injured after a splash accident at a furnace belonging to a subsidiary of Shandong Humon Smelting Co, according to a report from the company on Monday. The report was delivered to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Three people died after hospital treatment failed, three are still at the hospital, and the remaining 11 have been discharged, the report said. It did not specify the exact time of the accident.
The company was founded in 1988 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2008.
According to the report, the subsidiary has been suspended.
The Shandong provincial government has set up a team to investigate the accident. The company has yet to receive a report from the investigation and it cannot estimate the exact economic loss from the accident for the time being, the report added.
