3 killed in North China coal mine accident

TAIYUAN -- Three people were killed in a coal mine accident in Taiyuan, the capital of North China's Shanxi province, local authorities confirmed on Monday.
The accident took place at midnight July 7 when a water inrush occurred at a coal mine in Qingxu county. Three miners were reported trapped at that time.
The county's publicity department said that, as of 6:10 pm on Sunday, the remains of the three trapped miners had been retrieved.
