In the history of the local financial industry, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange has gone through glorious and stormy days. Hong Kong's prosperity wasn't achieved overnight, says Laura Cha Shih May-lung, who formerly headed the exchange.
Despite challenges and setbacks, she says there are always new opportunities in the SAR. The strong backing of the motherland, along with Hong Kong's unique advantages, has instilled confidence in the city among global investors.
