Xiang Xiang's seventh birthday draws Japanese panda fans

"Many of them spent the whole day here, from the opening in the morning until the closing in the afternoon, just to be with her," she said.

The base prepared bamboo shoots, carrots, apples and steamed buns for Xiang Xiang on the morning of her birthday.

Zhao said Xiang Xiang has adapted to her life at the base. Her daily diet consists of 35 kilograms of bamboo, three to four kilograms of bamboo shoots, 1 kilogram of steamed buns and 400 grams of apples.
