Painted pottery jars, cups and basins decorated with geometric motifs popular in the Central Plain, as well as unique animal, plant and ethnic motifs typical of the Western Regions, have been unearthed in Xinjiang. Dating back 2,000 to 4,000 years, they reflect multicultural integration between Xinjiang and the inner regions of China in ancient times. Check them out at the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum.
