Chinese Minister of National Defense Admiral Dong Jun held talks with Japanese defense Minister Minoru Kihara in Singapore on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue on Saturday.
The talks were held on Saturday morning after the first plenary session of the elite global security conference, Shangri-La Dialogue.
Dong is now undergoing a six-day visit to Singapore, where he also participates in the Shangri-La Dialogue and will deliver a speech on China's approach to global security on Sunday morning.
One day earlier, the Chinese defense chief met with his United States counterpart, Lloyd Austin—the first face-to-face meeting between the China and US defense chiefs since 2022.
