China-Cambodia Forum on Digital Economy and Industry-Education Integration was held in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, earlier this week, providing intellectual and innovative support for building the China-Cambodia "Digital Silk Road".

The forum, gathering experts from various industries including information and communication, intelligent manufacturing, and e-commerce, will further promote industry-education integration and collaboration between universities and enterprises.

The forum was co-hosted by the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and South East Asia Telecom Group (Cambodia).

Representatives introduced the development of enterprises in Cambodia and their demands for digital transformation, and put forward suggestions for deepening the high-quality development of digital economy integration between industry, education, and research.

Xu Kun, president of BUPT, said with comprehensive strengths in talent cultivation and scientific innovation in the field of telecommunications, the university has made contributions to promoting high-quality development through industry-education integration.

The university will strengthen exchanges between China and Cambodia in education, science and technology, and talent fields, tapping into the potential of digital economy and industry-education integration, Xu said during the opening ceremony.

A memorandum of cooperation has been jointly signed by universities, industrial associations, and enterprises, establishing a collaborative base for talent cultivation in the digital economy and a joint laboratory for educational integration between China and Cambodia.

Chet Chealy, president of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, said the signing of the cooperation memorandum will be a new starting point to continue deepening exchanges between BUPT and other Chinese universities, as well as the industrial sectors of China and Cambodia.

The university will promote high-level collaborative training of talents in the digital economy and technological innovation, he said.
