Trump's trial has its first seven jurors
The first seven jurors were selected on Tuesday to serve on Donald Trump's hush money criminal trial, as the selection process continues to choose a panel of 12 members and six alternates who can be fair to the former US president. The judge warned lawyers that he would not tolerate any efforts to intimidate prospective jurors.

Upper house delays Rwanda policy again
Britain's upper house of parliament again proposed changes to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's divisive law to send asylum-seekers to Rwanda on Tuesday, delaying one of Sunak's flagship policies he hopes could help change his party's electoral fortunes. Sunak has invested huge political capital in the policy before an election later this year, saying it will help meet his pledge to stop people arriving in small boats in Britain without permission.
HAITI
Transitional council members named
Haiti's government on Tuesday named the members of a transitional council set to take power when Ariel Henry steps down as prime minister, inching closer to putting in place measures that could restore security in the violence-wracked country. The council is expected to choose a leader and a prime minister and wield certain presidential powers by majority vote. Its mandate runs to February 2026. The government, however, did not give a date for the council's installment and local lawyers have warned that the process of confirming the members could be long.
