Beijing's Craft Beer Festival set to open on May Day holiday
In the heart of the capital's western Shijingshan district, nestled within the historic and cultural Shougang Park, the annual Beijing Craft Beer Festival is about to unfold once again during the coming May Day holiday.
With a lineup of more than 500 varieties from more than a hundred breweries, this year's festival is expected to be a haven for both beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
Last year, the inaugural Beijing Craft Beer Festival, or BCBF, drew over 20,000 visitors, transforming the industrial park into a bustling hub of merriment, according to the city's commerce bureau.
To further bolster Beijing's reputation as the "international capital of gastronomy" and "Asia's craft beer capital", this year's event, scheduled during the coming holiday, would not only showcase an opulent array of brews but also host over 30 trendy Beijing eateries, offering more than 500 craft beers alongside music, entertainment and interactive experiences.
The event will be held at the 14th Pavilion in Shougang Park from May 1 to 4, between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm. Tickets could be purchased through the "Beijing Craft Beer Festival" official WeChat account.
The festival will be divided into three major sections based on regional distinctions, allowing attendees and beer aficionados to vote for the year's hottest brands and the most popular craft beers across various styles.
The organizers, recalling the overwhelming popularity of the 2023 Beijing Craft Beer Festival, had significantly expanded the event area. In addition to the festival pavilion and the expansive grassland, the entire festival area will span over 40,000 square meters, a 200 percent increase from the previous year.
