Judge rejects Trump's request to delay trial
A judge on Wednesday rejected former US president Donald Trump's bid to delay his April 15 hush money trial until the Supreme Court rules on presidential immunity claims he raised in another of his criminal cases — spurning another of Trump's ploys to put off the historic trial indefinitely. Manhattan Judge Juan M.Merchan declared the request untimely, ruling that Trump's lawyers had "myriad opportunities "to raise the immunity issue before they finally did so last month.

3 dead in 'terrorist attacks': state media
Three security personnel have been killed in "terrorist attacks" in Iran, state media reported on Thursday, two days after seven Iranian Revolutionary Guards were killed in an air raid in Syria. The attack happened in southeastern Sistan-Baluchistan Province, said Alireza Marhamati, deputy governor of the province. State broadcaster IRIB said a number of assailants were also killed or injured. It also said the Jaish al-Adl group claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Hun Sen elected as senate president
Cambodia's former prime minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen was elected as president of the Senate in the fifth mandate on Wednesday, the state-run National Television of Cambodia reported. All 62 senators present at the first session of the upper house of the parliament unanimously elected Hun Sen as president, the report said. Speaking after the vote, Hun Sen vowed to do his best to serve the nation and the people.
