Members of international media finished their three-day tour of new quality productive forces on Friday afternoon in Hefei, Anhui province.

The tour group, which included 30 China-based reporters from 20 foreign media outlets, had visited locally headquartered enterprises such as Sungrow Power, Anhui Forklift, iFlytek and Gotion High-tech, as well as local subsidiaries of Continental AG and Volkswagen.

Whenever the tour arrived at a site, reporters quickly surrounded the company executives and officials, eager to ask their seemingly endless questions.

Making strides in new quality production, featuring high-tech, high efficiency and high quality, is prominent on China's agenda this year.

The provincial capital of Hefei, which is also a sub-center city of the Yangtze River Delta region, has emerged as a hot spot for investors from home and abroad with its innovation-driven development achievements.

Ann Scott Tyson, a reporter representing The Christian Science Monitor from the United States, said she used to know Hefei as an underdeveloped inland city and the tour just overturned her recognition of the region.

Yang Chunyan, director in charge of public relations affairs at Gotion High-tech, said the company has kept close contact with international media.

"We hope the media tour to our plant on Friday morning will help international reporters gain a better understanding of a real, genuine and aspiring Gotion," she said.

A company committed to globalization, Gotion High-tech has been focusing on power battery development and production around the world since 2006, when the firm was founded in Hefei.

Co-organized by the State Council Information Office and the information office of the Anhui provincial government, the tour was also joined by several Chinese media outlets.
