1 dead, 22 injured in North China eatery explosion

An explosion occurred at 7:55 am on Wednesday at a residential community in Xiaozhanggezhuang village of Yanjiao, an area under the administration of Langfang, Hebei province, China Central Television reported.

The explosion occurred at a restaurant, causing some people to be sent to the hospital for injuries sustained. The current casualties are unknown, the report said.

An online video showed that the glass of nearby buildings were shattered and some vehicles on the road were damaged.

The cause of the accident is suspected to be a gas explosion, the report said.
