The 2024 Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off on Monday at Shanghai Gucun Park in Baoshan district.

According to officials, the best time of the year to view the Kawazu-zakura and Introrsa cherry trees has arrived. More than 1,600 mu (107 hectares) of 120 types of cherry trees are now in full bloom in the park.

The landscapes surrounded by tulips and rapeseed flowers are new highlights of this year's cherry blossom festival.

Also, the inaugural Cherry Blossom Cup, a women's football invitational will kick off on March 30 at the park.

Tickets can be purchased in advance through the WeChat account of Gucun Park. This festival will last until April 15.
