PM resigns amid corruption allegations
Peru's Prime Minister Alberto Otarola announced on Tuesday his resignation after audio linking him to the alleged irregular hiring of a young woman in the public sector was released. He said that "the baseness" of his political adversaries does not daunt him. He added that his decision has two objectives, the first being "to give tranquility to the president (Dina Boluarte), to recompose the ministerial cabinet", and the second to allow her to continue working "as she has been doing".

ChatGPT maker seeks to dismiss Musk claims
ChatGPT maker OpenAI refuted Elon Musk's claims on Tuesday that the startup abandoned its original mission to develop artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity and not for profit. Open-AI said in a blog post that it intends to move to dismiss all of Musk's claims. Musk filed a lawsuit against the startup he co-founded last week, alleging breach of contract, saying the Microsoft-backed firm is now focused on making money. OpenAI said Musk wanted the company to merge with electric vehicle maker Tesla.

President approves Sweden's NATO bid
Hungary's president formally signed a bill on Tuesday approving Sweden's NATO bid, removing the last obstacle after 18 months of delays that frustrated the alliance. President Tamas Sulyok's signature was needed to put into force a bill that was passed in Hungary's parliament last month in a culmination of months of wrangling by Hungary's allies to convince its nationalist government to lift its block on Sweden's membership. Hungary's government under Prime Minister Viktor Orban first submitted the protocols for approving Sweden's entry into NATO in July 2022, but the matter stalled in parliament over opposition by governing party lawmakers.
HAITI
Top gang leader warns of civil war, genocide
A powerful Haitian gang leader warned on Tuesday that the chaos engulfing the capital Port-au-Prince will lead to civil war and "genocide" unless Prime Minister Ariel Henry steps down. The stark comments from Jimmy Cherizier, known as Barbecue, came as Henry appeared to be struggling to fly home, with the main airport under attack and the neighboring Dominican Republic refusing permission for him to land. Henry, who was supposed to step down last month, was out of the country last week when armed criminal gangs, who control large swathes of the country, launched a coordinated assault to oust him.
