Zhang Zheng appointed new deputy Party secretary
Zhang Zheng has taken the position of deputy Party secretary and vice-minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, according to the ministry's website on Thursday.
The 58-year-old was born in Mingshui county in Northeast China's Heilongjiang and joined the Communist Party of China in December 1987.
He majored in broadcasting and hosting at college and has hosted several TV shows and Spring Festival galas — the annual cultural and art performance celebrating the Chinese New Year, at China Central Television.
He then served in several State-owned art companies from 2003 and took temporary positions in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Guizhou province.
From June 2017, he served as the editor-in-chief of Guangming Daily until he transferred to Hebei province to work as a local official in March 2021.
