Deputy head of township police station turns self in, now under detention
The deputy head of a township police station in Tangshan, Hebei province, who allegedly injured a person with a knife, turned himself in and is now under criminal detention, said the public security bureau of Fengrun district of Tangshan on Friday.
Wang was responsible for mediating the case involving a conflict between a person surnamed Wu and passengers from another vehicle after Wu's car was scratched on Jan 18. Wu expressed his dissatisfaction with the mediation results by posting videos and live streams online multiple times.
On Jan 23, an altercation occurred between Wang and Wu as they attempted to resolve the issue near a construction site. Wang then wielded a knife and injured Wu and later turned himself in.
Wu is in stable condition and is not in life-threatening danger, said the bureau.
The bureau will investigate into the case in accordance with the law and uphold social fairness and justice, said the bureau.
