Zou Yute, a 70-year-old craftsman, is an inheritor of the bamboo dragon-making craft and has been devoted to this art for over four decades.

The Firecracker Dragon Festival, dating back to more than 10 centuries ago, is a traditional carnival celebrating the Spring Festival in Binyang county, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, where locals perform the firecracker dragon dance with a bamboo dragon.

Unlike most dragon dances performed elsewhere, the audience usually throws lit firecrackers toward the bamboo dragon during the performance to drive away evil spirits and pray for peace and prosperity for the new year.

The event was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2008.
